The key responsibilities of a career coach include:

  • Provide career advice
  • Help you navigate career transition
  • Interpret career assessments
  • Assist with career planning / Help you set short and long-term goals
  • Help you to research options
  • Educate you about job search strategies (use of job boards, recruiters, networking)
  • Write your resume

  • Help you prepare to interview with confidence

Sally works with a wide range of clients including, students exploring careers, students entering the workforce, adults impacted by a layoff, adults returning to work after caring for children, adults changing careers, and adults in semi-retirement.

Career Assessment

Identifying your interests and strengths is an important first step in understanding yourself and identifying your career direction. This criterion is also important for young adults in selecting college courses and majors, or professionals selecting the proper upskilling/training needed to advance. Assessment results can help individuals gain clarity and insight about their direction.

Both the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory assessments are taken online and at your own pace, results are usually shared in a phone consultation or in a Zoom or face-to-face meeting. Career assessment include:

  • Myers Briggs Type Indicator
  • Strong Interest Inventory
  • Interpretation of results
  • Guidance in researching occupations

Resume Writing

Today’s resumes need to be written and formatted in a way to pass through the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) used by Human Resource departments. Additionally, once a hiring manager reads the resume, it needs to be spot on, showcasing your relevant skills and experience. The benefits of having a professionally written resume include:

  • Assistance in identifying skills, strengths, and accomplishments
  • Content matched with the posting
  • Attractive formatting and layout
